Trility conducted a discovery for this client to develop a Strategic Roadmap for evolving the existing cloud implementation while maturing and modeling best practices for multi-cloud deployment – including gaining full ownership of public cloud accounts. Key aspects included knowledge for completing work in secure and repeatable patterns.
This client was reliant on a Managed Service Provider (MSP) for its AWS account and associated services and desired insight and full ownership.
They expressed inadequate insight into how the AWS account and resources were configured and managed, in addition to a lack of understanding on how to recreate them.
The client also wanted future flexibility to maintain it with their own team or contract an MSP while having full ownership and control of those public cloud accounts.
The discovery project allowed the client to create a roadmap and strategy on how to evolve the current AWS implementation into a mature, best-practices model for multi-cloud deployment and utilization.
The roadmap illustrated:
A strategy to securely, dependably, and repeatedly use cloud resources
Short- and long-term tactical observations, recommendations, and options
Automation, Infrastructure as Code, and template-based resource creation and maintenance
Information security and regulatory and compliance considerations
The client achieved a cloud implementation strategy and full ownership of existing public cloud accounts that included the following outcomes:
Optimizations for cost, remediation for identified gaps, dependability, availability, and reuse
Increased autonomy through knowledge transfer from Trility team members to internal team members
In a private, secure enterprise environment, team members gained the ability to provision AWS services (EC2, RDS database, Lambda function, etc.) and to create server/service in a private, secure environment.
