California Consumer Privacy Act Prototype

Trility's client needed to meet the immediate compliance requirements of CCPA by building a scalable prototype based on the unknown demand of requests. The solution helped prepare the organization for the enacted law while increasing its ability to adapt to the changing landscape of consumer privacy.

Problem Statement

To meet the oncoming privacy requirements of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), this client required a solution-based prototype to facilitate and support compliance with CCPA and future privacy laws.

The project required a fast-tracked, two-month schedule to ensure the C-Level leadership fully understood what the law required and how the implementation process would function.

Solution Approach

This project helped this company complete the critical planning steps from the consumer user experience through technical architecture and operations to meet CCPA requirements and long-term needs.

  • Designed for deployment in any environment used by its subsidiaries

  • Developed implementation process with educational handoff to the client’s team

  • Provided guidance on solving the next steps for data acquisition

Outcomes

  • Created an internal, automated process to find and provide personal data and well as how it is used to the person who makes the request – it also included a manual intervention if necessary

  • Designed a user experience that allows the person making the request to communicate what information the client could delete and/or not sell

  • Ensured leadership understood what was needed and how CCPA implementation process would function

  • Delivery in two months vs. the six-month internal timeline
